Inverness Local Area Activities, Attractions, and Stunning Highland Scenery

As the capital of the Highlands Inverness is the ideal base to explore the region from.  These two Inverness apartments are in quiet parts of the city but both are only a few minutes walk from the centre of town.   We have provided some contact information and other website links for tourism, restaurants, entertainment and golf on the links page.  The wider Highlands around these self catering accommodation offerings is renowned for its unspoilt beaches and support a wide range of activities including Sailing, Hill walking, Bike riding and Ski-ing for example.  There are several castles and historic sites nearby, as well as the Cairngorm National Park.  Sporting activities at Bught Park include swimming and  the River Ness is famous for salmon fishing and Loch Ness can be cruised (details also on links page).

Some ideas to get you started ...

The apartments are both located deceptively close to the City Centre, which offers a wide selection of shops and restaurants to explore.  Tesco Supermarket is a few minutes away on foot from Riverside Apartment and the Eastgate Shopping Centre is equally close to Broadstone Park should you need to stock up or just enjoy shopping with a range to suit all tastes.

Venture further along the riverbanks to the towpaths of the Caledonian Canal.   Of an evening why not catch a show at the nearby Eden Court Theatre and treat yourself to a pre-theatre meal. There is a selection of eateries on the Riverside serving irresistible food.  Enjoy a short walk up the Ness River path and discover the Floral Hall and Gardens.

Further a field, but easily accessible by public transport, are the many visitor attractions including historic Cawdor Castle, set in beautiful grounds.  Travel to Aviemore and take the funicular railway to the top of Cairngorm Mountain and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the National Park below.  Perhaps play golf on Championship Courses at Castle Stewart, Royal Dornoch and Nairn.

Whatever the choice of holiday, the Highland Capital makes an ideal destination for a City Break and is within easy reach of spectacular countryside.  There is a wide variety of outdoor pursuits which can be enjoyed.  Visit Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre or take a boat trip on the world famous Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle or even go wildlife spotting for birds, deer or even Moray Firth Dolphins!
